Finding Tina Palmer explores what it means to be a man today and is told through the eyes of one man looking to reclaim his own manhood. In fourth grade, Todd Lehr was defeated by Tina Palmer in the championship round of an arm wrestling competition in gym class. Twenty five years later, Todd tracks down Tina and begs for a rematch. In their first encounter since graduating high school, Todd discovers that Tina is still physically fit and her arms are twice as big as his own. Seeing little consequence, Tina accepts the challenge, allowing four months to train before the big showdown.
Thinking he may have bitten off more than he can chew, Todd starts doing whatever he can to prepare for the rematch. His regime includes rigorous workouts, a strict diet, professional training, and competing with women of all sizes. But despite his efforts, the popular opinion is that Tina will easily defend her title. The film climaxes with a fierce arm-to-arm battle, leaving the crowd cheering for both competitors.
Along the way, Todd examines his past and present, and tries to understand the struggles he has had with his manhood, including the effects of growing up without a father. He attempts to reconcile both his feminine and masculine qualities, as well as how people view him. In the end, Todd finds peace and realizes that he is the only one who can define what kind of man he has become.
